The full history of VoA Sailors
If you want to dive deeper into the story of the fan club, you are in the right place! Keep scrolling and found out how it all began.
The Beginning – 2017 / 2018

In 2017 Melli & Julia discovered VoA by accident. Since than they followed their activities on social media and waited for the upcoming album The Deep & The Dark and the following tour.
The actual trip was supposed to begin in February 2018 with Melli & Julia’s first VoA concert in Berlin. But things turned out differently than expected. Visions Of Atlantis had to cancel their show due to the illness of two members. What an unfortunate start. But the two friends didn’t give up and planned their next trip a few days later to Glauchau, Germany, to finally meet the band for the first time at their VIP session before the actual show. Thanks to a very sympathetic meeting with the band the girls joined a lot more shows in this year.
A Fanpage was born – November 5th, 2018
The birth of a fan page – Melli & Julia wanted to share their passion with other fans, so they started on Instagram as “Visions Of Atlantis Fanpage”, but changed the name quite soon, as they thought a band who sings about the ocean, adventures and pirates deserves more then “just” a “Fanpage”.
And so the fanpage became known under the current name Visions Of Atlantis Sailors (short: VoA Sailors).
But not only fans got to know about the page and supported us. Also VoA and its members started to follow since the very beginning which means the world to us!

The Journey continues – 2019

The two friends continued their journey in 2019. But both quickly realized that cell phone photos weren’t the best quality. They wanted to offer their followers the best memories possible. Therefore Julia entered the wonderful world of concert photography and increased her skills over the years a lot.
Not only the quality increased, also Melli & Julias trips went farther and crazier. And so it happened that apart from the concerts they also made other VoA concerned trips, e.g. to the filming locations of The Last Home or A Journey to Remember & Nothing Lasts Forever, where they also found Thomas drum stick which he threw into the valley at the end of the A Journey To Remember video.
The next highlight should have been following Visions Of Atlantis on their second leg of their Wanderers tour 2020. All plannings were done by the end of 2019, but well… We all know what happened.
A pandemic hits hard – 2020/2021
2020 started in the way, 2019 ended. With some great VoA concerts! VoA played the first leg of their Wanderers Tour in February, where Melli & Julia were also present, looked forward to join VoA fully on the road of their second leg later the year. But first, VoA traveled to the US for a tour with Dragonforce. But after five shows only & one festival in Mexico, the sad reality of 2020 hit hard.
The world stopped, the world as we knew, didn’t existed anymore.
But the both friends didn’t bust their heads in the sand and continued, shared their pictures and videos, tried to make the situation a little more bearable. Among other things they shared a long-planned
Thank-You-Video for Visions Of Atlantis‘ 20th anniversary.
From the beginning, the fanpage main focus was to share mostly its own taken photos. Due to the lack of concerts in 2020 and 2021 a huge problem raised: The lack of new content. And so the first cooperation with Visions Of Atlantis came up. They provided us with photos from different shows we were allowed to share (e.g. from Bang Your Head Festival – VoAs first orchestra show). But not only that, in 2021 Julia & Melli had the chance to interview Clémentine about their plans and new record, which was in the making by then.

The Official Fanclub – August 29th, 2022

During the pandemic, several other VoA fan pages emerged. Before that, VoA Sailors was the only active page, and Visions of Atlantis had already referred to us as „the official fan page“ in several posts back then. Melli & Julia began to wonder whether they were even allowed to use that title anymore, since all they did was posting pictures of their favorite band, like the other pages.
The two brought their question to Visions Of Atlantis, and something unexpected happened, something they never would have imagined! After a long consideration with them, a concrete plan for the future came up and VoA Sailors became the first official fan club on August 29th, 2022!
There was great approval from the fans and the fan club even got an article on time-for-metal.eu
New Waters – 2023 / 2024
Since we became the official fan club, fans have enjoyed a broader range of content, but Melli & Julia have remained true to their main focus and continued to publish primarily their own content. However, in the following years, they also entered into collaborations with other fan clubs (e.g., the Kissin‘ Dynamite Pyromaniacs or the Seraina’s BaTELLIons) to further connect fans, but also with different photographers (e.g. Alex Wahl aka Oscura Lente Fotografia or Ryan Murray) to provide more insights into VoA’s concerts around the world when none of the fan club can be there in person.
In addition, various fan projects were launched, such as the VoA Sailors Fan Tales of the Symphonic Metal Nights 2022 or the self-made „Armada“ with fan greetings as a gift for VoA’s latest album at the time Pirates II – Armada in July 2024.

Verena had been a casual listener of Visions of Atlantis for a while. But Legion of the Seas changed that. This song unleashed her inner pirate and not long after she joined the ship for the Pirates release tour. And there, the journey began!
Many shows soon followed and also the first video projects for VoA Sailors. Creating videos have become a passion for her and sharing these memories with you.
The music of Visions of Atlantis has also been a good excuse to follow her other passion: traveling! And she has discovered many known and unknown places, meeting many fellow sailors and pirates from all over the world.
The Crew is growing – August 18th, 2025
Anna stumbled upon Visions of Atlantis a couple years back at a concert in her hometown of Graz. Their music gave Anna the courage to be their true self and opened the door to countless treasured memories along the way.
With many of the band’s shows scattered across distant lands, they found themselves traveling more than ever — roamin’ like a sailor with the wind at their back. Life on the road became an adventure in itself, each journey bringing new stories, new sights, and new mates they now hold dear.
Here’s to the music that keeps them sailing forward and the people who make the journey worth taking.
